Our business began in 1982. Based out of Thorpe Leazes Farm near Stockton-on-Tees, the Walker family took the company from a small wholesaler and built it into a national supplier of cut cheese to the majority of UK multiples. We have grown over the years, expanding in different areas, to become industry specialists in cheese cutting, packing and distribution, offering a fully flexible service with bespoke solutions tailored to specific business needs.
Expansion has brought us to the point of natural succession for the Albex Group, who with its subsidiaries, are one of Europe's largest food ingredient distributors. As part of the Albex Group, we continue to build and with that, the co-packing operation has been expanded. This has allowed partnerships inside and outside of the cheese industry to flourish.

Starting out in wholesale, the business has progressed throughout the years under the ownership of the Walker family until it was acquired by the Albex Group in 2020. During this time it has accumulated considerable industry knowledge and expertise, whilst retaining its cultural values. Russell Eley was appointed Managing Director in the same year following the retirement of the Walker family directors, bringing with him over 30 years FMCG experience, further strengthening the team. The business has continued to thrive, building on existing relationships and partnerships, forging new ones and broadening its customer base.

We consistently achieve BRCGS certification and are part of the unannounced programme. Our current awarded grade is AA+.

Regular Unannounced Customer Audits
Independent audits are regularly carried out by customers. We continue to conform with and surpass requirements. We are currently certified to supply most UK multiple retailers.
We have always been conscious of our responsibilities to the environment - our woodland walk continues to grow and thrive, giving habitat to local wildlife and a peaceful rest area for staff.
